I have to say my first dog on my own was from a BYB andf i Paid $450.

My first boxer was $600. But I knew the stud owner and she took him as her stud fee and I paid her the $ she was charging for the stud fee .

My second was on a co-ownership and I paid $500 with a pick puppy back. So between the cash and the puppy back it was $1300. And that was 8 years ago .

Edy -well she was free . o.K. not really . I can't put a cost to all the work involved with the litter . but the puppies sold from her litter were $800-$1000.

The price you quoted seems in line with conf/show breeders who health test .
