Default Keepers started agility!

We took Keepers to class tonight to see how he would do with agility. It was only us (me, my fiance, Keepers and Boo) and our trainer. Keepers did great! We didn't want to push him hard, just to see if it was something he could enjoy and we could take a real try at. He did tons of jumps and worked on a moving board to get used to the teeter. You could tell he was having a good time figuring everything out. We are waiting until the spring to really start, but I am just so pumped! I really want this to be "our thing" for me and my Keepers.

that's awesome. I bet he had a blast!!

When Tie was younger, i think he would have been great at agility.

Keep us updated on his progress

We had our first real class last night. We did a private lesson with a great trainer. The professional instructor was in awe over how smart he is! He did a straight tunnel, curved tunnel, shoot, A frame, dog walk, hurdles and the hoop on his first day! He also started work on the teeter and weaves. He wasn't scared of the teeter at all, something the trainer said was rare. She just kept saying "no dogs can do this on their first day!".

And the class was SO FUN. Honestly, the most fun I've ever had with Keepers. It was just awesome. Keepers slept allllllll night too.

At first Keepers just sat near it and the teacher would bang it on the ground to get him used to the sound. That seemed to scare him a bit because he couldn't get close enough to really understand what was making that sound. So we let him go over to the teeter to check it out. Then the teacher put a chair under one side so the side we were working with could only go a few inches in the air. We would get Keepers to put his paws on it to slam it to the ground and say "make it bang". He got that part really easily and the sound and motion didn't bother him at all. Next time we will start having him actually walk up the teeter.

I couldn't believe how well he did on the A frame. That thing was tall and steep. The teacher said "oh, we can lower it to get him used to it" but before we could lower it Keepers went and ran all the way up and down on his own. He looked soooo proud of himself, like "this is ALL you want me to do? ok, well this is easy"

Glad he likes it. Great method of exercise, and brain stimulation at the same time!
