Is summer really almost over?

Wow, Sally that really is a gorgeous picture. Yes, they do sense a change - both Ruby and Jakey are picking up fox scents again as the fox babies are coming out of the dens and exploring the world, and we are seeing more squirrels around now ofcourse as the leaves and fruits are beginning to drop. I love the colours of Autumn, but the dogs are a pain in it for these reasons, I have to go back to putting Ruby and another dog I walk on lead in the woods or else they run off - the scents are just too exciting.

I know I am in the minority here but I LOVE winter most of all - but then again it doesn't really get that cold over here - maybe if I had winters like Ron and Dragon with snow day in and day out and cold winds all the time I would feel very differently about it.

Today is the first day of spring here - I LOVE spring . This year I have to say that winter didn't bother me, we are very lucky that our winters are pretty mild compared to what some of you guys have, my favourite seasons are Spring and Autum when it's really pleasant - not too hot, not too cold, summer gets a bit much sometimes, sooooo hot when it's in the 40's and the humidity, you just feel sticky all the time and the wind is hot.

Yes, Spring is really nice! So many fun things - flowers coming up, birds singing, nice scents in the air. We've had a very hot summer here, I think many folks are looking forward to Autumn.

I really like them all. About the time I get tired of one, another rolls around.

Bad thing about this time of year... we are expecting a hurricane coming up our coast. Should be hitting here around 2 pm tomorrow. It sure is beautiful today. I've already taken in all my pool things and stored them in the shed. Although I am not along the water, we are about 25 minutes inland, we will still get the heavy winds.

DH and I are planning on going down the shore for lunch today as we usually do when he is off, so will probably be seeing the rough seas. I know the rip currents are really bad. Someone just drowned the day before again. I don't know why people don't listen to the rules... don't swim when the red flags are up!

Missi, it must hitting you guys within the next 24 hours. Do you have to have do any precautions? Especially with Edy and the pups?
