wow sounds like he is doing great with training, Bo is the same way, he does some stuff all the time but some others he just sometimes doesnt feel like it. luckily the crate is dane sized, otherwise you might not fit in there with him. aslo find his fave toy and put that in there too. good luck with that one.

He's adorable!! He reminds me a lot of my new pup, she's brindle with white markings too!
I'm so jealous of how well Ares is doing with training! Shenzi is a little monster... when she isn't sleeping that is. Her new favorite thing is going and trying to beat up the 11 week old golden puppy that lives near us.
As for the crate, I'd suggest using his favorite food to lure him in there. He's still small enough as to where you can just set him in, too. Shenzi was really scared of her crate the first few times she was in it and was howling and yipping away. I just closed the door and didn't respond to it. Over a few days she learned that it's a good place. I'd suggest not giving into his fear, show him, or rather tell him, with your demeanor, that this is a place that is safe and that he has to accept. Be a leader! =)

lol being the leader isnt the issue, the room mates up stairs that dont wanna listen to him barking yipping and howling for hours on end are, i figured that if i slept in there with him he would "quietly" grow to like and accept the crate. gonna have to wait though as i found out today that the cause of his diarrhea is an intestinal infection caused by a single cell protozoan called "Giardia". ive gotta give him medicine every 12 hours to get rid of it. so we both lucked out and dont have to sleep in the crate this weekend lol
