Now what fun would that be?

When I am out walking I find it so irritating - I like listening to the sounds of nature, bird song etc. I have some dogs that get so wound up by them that I have to put them on their leads, and even then it's not easy trying to drag a couple of barking lunging dogs away from them.

I'm with you on that, Stephanie. The noise can get annoying, although the little one doesn't make that much noise. And he doesn't fly that long because it's actually kind of taxing, mentally. That's Mike's smallest one. He has I don't know how many, maybe half a dozen. Some are quite big and one uses nitro fuel and is very big and loud. He can't fly the bigger ones in the house and doesn't fly them in parks even when people are around. It's not really safe, because someone could run into the area where it's active and something could go wrong. But sometime people come to watch him fly and ask him questions.
He can fly some of the
medium ones outside here but he's always careful to see if the neighbors are around and never flies for long. The guys and children seem to like watching some - although I don't really think watching is very interesting myself. I think the fun would be in mastering the flying, which is quite a bit more challenging (so I'm told) than flying a fixed wing craft.
Not my thing, but it makes him happy so I'm happy for him. Buddy would obviously like to participate, but more as an incoming missile I'm afraid.
