Maybe Tie is warning the 2 of you to back off? It also explains how, many times dogs will actually physically come between 2 people hugging as they are trying to diffuse the situation, eg, stop a 'fight' from breaking out......

I think I've heard that too--Wally doesn't seem to care, but Carli always had to get into the middle of hugs.

My currrent lot don't pay any attention to Graham and I having a hug. If we are sitting on the sofa together then Ruby most time likes to squash herself right in the middle of us. I don't think she does this out of any concern or to try and split us up, she just likes to be close to us, she is such a cuddle bug.
