As I said on JoeV's thread we were at the beach this past weekend too, sorry pics are not up to usual standard I only took the small compact camera with me.......................check out the seaweed though..............

Wow..... that is A LOT of seaweed, LOL... but you photos were still beautiful even with a compact camera!!!!

wow, that is a lot of seaweed. Ruby looks like she had a lot of fun! shots were still good with the small camera... better than mine - i used the camera on my phone but next time i'll bring the dslr.

Must have been a storm or something to bring in that much seaweed. Do you have kelp over there too? It has long hose like stems with a bulb at the top that floats on the top of the water--great fun for kids playing jump rope on the beach (but smelly!) We used to find it a lot when I was a kid and we went to the Oregon coast. I love the 'splashy' shot--those little cameras really do take remarkable photos.

Thanks guys for your comments. Yes we do get kelp too Lori. The seaweed is so bad because the council has cut back on the cleaning services, so instead of it getting cleared every day - as it is during the main summer season when we get holiday visitors, it is now only done a couple of times a month. People have complained greatly about the smell, but all the council say is there isn't the money available to deal with the problem anymore, cutbacks, cutbacks, etc...
