New pup in town!

Hi! Dragons wife, Gillian, here! I see Scott hasn't been visiting lately but I thought I would share our new addition to the family. Ruby is our new little chub and is about 5 months old. Although she is not a boxer (shes a Cane Corso) I don't think Peaches could have been paired with a better playmate. Here are a few photos!

What a pretty girl! Looks like she's going to be a big one, too. Yeah, love the 'softest seat in the house' shot--and it didn't seem to faze Peaches.

Aw, nice to see you on here, another Ruby - YAY! great name choice! She is very pretty, glad to read her and Peaches are getting on so well. What made you go with a Cane Corso rather than another boxer?
Would love an update on Peaches too - how old is she now? how is she doing? are you still taking her to training classes etc?

Scott was interested in Cane Corsos before we got Peaches. We do love Boxers and will probably get another one someday (whenever Peachy's time is up years from now hopefully). It's a nice balance of energy in the house though. Ruby is just my calm little LoveBug. We thought two boxers might have been a little insane for the household ATM.
Peaches is doing good...although has issues these days. She no longer can go to the dog park or socialize nicely with stranger dogs. She had a chunk of her ear bit off last spring at the park (maybe you heard) but ever since then she seems to be in the mind frame of getting them before they get her...I can't think of what else! We had put so much time and energy into keeping her well socialized and this starts. At home she is amazing though and we really couldn't ask for a better dog. Question IS! Do I keep trying to fix this or just let her be. It's fairly obvious she doesn't enjoy her parks anymore.
On another note...we changed her food over to hypoallergenic prescription diet and her runny poops and gas has completely stopped! She even put on those extra few pounds she needed to make herself look healthier.

Thanks for the update, how sad that she got attacked like that, poor thing and how sad for you guys too, I remember from past posts that you both spent so much time mixing her and getting her dog friendly. As to what you do, I don't know, she needs to change her perception of other dogs - I have done this with one of my rescue dogs, containing him and using treats whenever dogs came into view, slowly slowly he came to realise that dogs meant good things - eg, treats. Took a long time though to change his mindset, and I had a professional come out to help us as he was really bad lunging out at other dogs and trying to get at them, etc...
Glad the diet change has helped, we had the same problems with Roddy before we switched him to raw, the gas was just lethal...........
