Winfall's Boxers website has not been updated in ages. They have many more dogs than they list on the site. If a breeder does not put what health testing they do on their site and they do have a site, it is not because they forgot or did not have time. It is because they either perform no tests or perform tests only on certain dogs - usually the dogs they show.

While this may be the case in some breeders it is not true of all reputable breeders . I know of quite a few who have sites that are not updated regularly , and yes they do health test . And I know of many more who have taken down their sites . Just becasue they have a life other than boxers and can not keep up with updates and maintainance.

I think a good thing is to contact any breeder you may be interested in . ask your list of questions and if you are not comfortable with the answere , keep looking .

Health testing is one of the most important things a breeder should have on their website for each dog that they breed. It is not very hard to update a site, does not take more than an hour each month for a personal website. Just make sure you ask for proof for health testing if no information is given on their website.

For some of us, updating a website is fairly easy. But it's not easy if you're not familiar with computers not to mention HTML and all that other jargon.

I agree that it would make choosing a breeder easier if all the info was right out there on their sites . Or at least mention that they do test .

But sadly in today's day and age people are dishonest . I know a few breeders who have taken any health results off their sites because that info has been stolen and used elsewhere for untested dogs . believe it or not it does happen - right along with using pics of other peoples dogs on their website saying they own the dog .

I can just tell you are passionate about health testing! Yayl!! It's refreshing in this world of byb and overflowing rescues!!

but I don't think it's a must have on a website. It sure makes it easier on the buyer to narrow down breeders and many great breeders can be overlooked because they don't have that important info listed but still... there are more important issues then an updated website. A personal coversation is way more important. Many breeders still don't even have websites.

I agree Health testing is important but how do you know a breeder is being truthful just because they have it on there site. It is better to talk and visit a breeder place and ask to see the papers! then you have proof. It's like if you go camping many many camp sites look beautiful on the web only to get there and the place is a dump!

Got my boxer from Landos. Next time I will research more thoroughly. I had an issue with her a month after I had her and there suggestion was very "shady". Also getting the purebred paperwork from them was a nightmare.
