Health Testing is Important. Also make sure your breeder belongs to a Regional or National breed club Ie: Boxer Club of Canada, Northern Ontario Boxer Club, Western Ontario Boxer Club. These members follow a stricter code of ethics then those set out by the CKC. Anyone can belong to the CKC but not everyone can be a member of a breed Club.
A thought to consider is that if a breeder is involved in some sort of sport ie: performance, Conformation, field(not that boxers do much field work) etc. It says a lot of the breeder who is doing more then just breeding dogs.
People who are breeding dogs just to breed dogs IMO are doing it for the wrong reasons. Improving the breed is an important factor in a breeding program. Stay away from those tha give a lifetime GTD it's a marketing scam. Stay away from those that have crates over crates over crates. RED FLAG RUN. A house raised dogs makes a better dog then a kennel dog. Socialization is key to the development of your new puppy.
