Kijiji Classifieds Full OF BYB's
To remove this ad please Register
Since i've decided to start my quest for a new boxer puppy, i've been searching online for breeders using the major search engines. I've found that Kijiji Classifieds is just FULL of BYB's.
Every major city here in Ontario has listings for boxers and boxer X. Makes me mad. I've emailed a few of them to ask if they have their dam, sires or pups CKC certified. One lady replied back saying that it's "too much trouble for everyone to have a ckc certfied dog"
I just shake my head sometimes...

If the CKC is like the AKC that is just insane. The AKC is a joke. Even a lot of the breeders listed by them are BYBs.

I love when people say "oh but they are XYZ registered" There are several registries in the US that will literally register anything with four legs.

i'm not sure if we have anything outside of the CKC for registration. My issue with these people posting these "boxer puppy" adds are they lure uneducated people in with the promise of "dew claws removed", "first vet shots", and the one that really gets me "dam and sire on site."
To someone who's looking for a puppy, those things sound pretty good, and when they can offer the dog for $300-$400 less than a responsible breeder, people will buy.

I would never buy a dog from Kijiji unless I know the breeder or heard good things about the breeder from other people. Usually people that post on Kijiji are not even registered with any clubs and breed their dogs just to make quick money. We have some boxer breeders listed on our site, most of them are responsible breeders, but there might be a few that are questionable. I stopped calling any breeder 'reputable' because every breeder has an opinion on who is reputable and this just causes endless arguments. I would say, there aren't many reputable breeders around the world, since reputable means that they do not breed for money, but only for the betterment of the breed.

i agree boxer100. Just because a breeder has AKC/CKC accreditation, doesn't mean they're reputable.

I don't think ANY reputable breeder would put an ad on a website like that. Reputable breeders have waiting lists for their dogs and really don't need to advertise.

Breeders on line
Found a website that has some great pictures of beautiful boxers. Some of them are relatives of my Lady Miss. Knowing what I know now, I would look to them for a boxer. Probably get my next one there. Check out their beautiful champions!

I'm a reputable show exhibitor/breeder and I advertise on Kijiji. I don't need to advertise on Kijiji or any other free site but hey, why not?? It's FREE (and I think the snob in me enjoys placing photos of my beautiful dogs against some of the pathetic excuses for Boxers that are also advertised there). However, I do not just sell to someone because they respond to my ad. They still have to complete our puppy questionnaires, supply references and jump through all of the hoops that anyone else would have to do who found our website from the clubs that we belong to. In fact, they rarely do purchase from me, because they were wanting a "Kijiji" priced dog and that's okay. However, I was given an opportunity to give a lesson as to why one buys from a reputable breeder as opposed to someone who simply breeds 2 Boxers together to sell puppies and why CKC registered does not necessarily mean QUALITY. *shrugs* If a site is offering free advertising, count me in. By advertising on these sites, it gives folks who do not know where else to look for a reputable breeder, an opportunity to not only find one but also to be educated.
