Extra Vitamins?
To remove this ad please Register
It is so interesting to read what supplements and things we give our dogs – so I’m wondering does anyone take any extra vitamins for themselves on a daily basis? I don’t take anything regularly – if I feel a cold coming on then I start taking something called ‘Wintervits’ - they are huge tablets that have Vit C, Zinc with Maitake, Astragalus & Propolis, in them. Once the cold has passed I stop taking them though.

I've been taking Woman's One a Day for years. I also take Caltrate for extra calcium because of my age and the fact that my mom had Osteoporosis so badly, she fractured her spine (and didn't even know she did it until she couldn't walk all of a sudden, not from falling, we never knew how it happened, it just did). She never walked again. So I am faithfully taking them as the dr. recommended me to do.

I've always taken vitamins since high school (I had a part time job at GNC) lol, so that got me into them. I'm currently using Weil nutrition's (by Dr. Andrew Weil) daily multi... seems good.

Glad you're proactive with the calcium

I take a vitamin pack, omega fish oil, calcium, and an emergency c. That is when I am taking care of myself. I am real good for awhile and then I will get out of the habit. I am getting back in the habit.

I take a mulitvitamin/mineral supplement along with ~3000mg DHA/EPA (fish oil) and 4500-5000 IU vitamin D. That's kind of my foundation. Beyond that I might take other things depending on how I feel or whatever. If we lived in the south, I wouldn't bother with the vitamin D, but anywhere north of Atlanta I think it's needed especially this time of year.
