Brown or white?

And what’s your most favourite topping?

For me its white toast with lashings of butter and marmalade [orange jam]...mmmmmm......naughty [so much fat, sugar etc.,] but sooooooo nice!

For toast I do prefer a white crusty bread (though I have brown or grain for sandwiches) and my fave toppings would be butter (real butter - naughtly I know lol) and Vegemite or honey, I could eat honey toast for dinner I love it so.

OK... what is vegemite, LOL... I know Sting sings about a vegemite sandwich, but don't know what it is.

I also was a little confused on the brown bread. I assume you mean wheat or whole grain, or even pumpernickel?

I prefer plain old white toast and only lightly toasted too. Margarine spread, once in a while with grape jam. But if I have jam too, I want to eat to many slices, LOL. If just margarine, I will only eat one!

Brown can be anything that's not pure white, just like what have suggested, wholmeal, granary, etc.

Vegemite is an Australian spread that we use on toast and sandwiches, some people even use it in cooking (I only use it in cooking when making cheese twists for the kids). Probably not something you would enjoy Doreen, alot of foreigners who have tried it are quite repulsed by it lol but others do like it - Dad always ate it.
Brown bread - wholemeal bread over here. I also enjoy Rye bread.

You don't have grape jam???? It is like jelly, but not as geled, spreads easier, can control it better. I don't like preserves because that has those little seeds in them. I don't like seeds or pieces of fruit in my jellies.

Vegemite dates back to 1922 when the Fred Walker Company, which became Kraft Walker Foods in 1926 and Kraft Foods Limited in 1950, hired a young chemist to develop a spread from one of the richest known natural sources of the vitamin B group - Brewers Yeast.

Vegemite - I just read your link - it's like Marmite - I hate it! Here the Marmite adverts on TV all centre around the catchphrase 'you either love it or you hate it,' I'm in the hate camp, yuk!

I can't stand Marmite lol I find the trick with Vegemite is you don't smear it on thick like you would peanut butter, just a very light spread.
