At first you could tell she was a little off the first day or two we brought the baby home. But, she came right back to normal and seems to want to protect the baby. If we sit down with her, Lucky will sit on your feet or sit next to us. She's also alert with her crying, etc. and will just look at the baby. At first, the sounds were different for her but she got used to it really quickly. We also went to a trainer and did a special 'baby prep' one on one lesson with them and I think that really prepared us. We had a fake baby doll in the house with our ipod tucked into it with baby noises and walked around the house. Every time Lucky sniffed, looked, or gave any attention to it, we rewarded her with a "yes" and treated. That provided a positive association with the baby... so I guess all that prep worked out. All in all, she's calm around the baby, and that's all I really wanted - she is a jumpy dog when it comes to meeting new people or other dogs and I just didn't want her to be all over the place around the baby.
