Really beautiful picture - we don't really see them over here very often.
On a totally different point, is that a Valentines day flag in the first picture? Is it common to put one out where you are? Over here, no one really bothers to decorate inside or outside of the house for this event. The shops do ofcourse, especially the card shops and the chocolate and wine aisles in the supermarkets, lovehearts everywhere there.......!

Yes, that is my Valentines flag. I always have a flag out there for every occasion. If no "holiday", then I put out my boxer flag, of which I need to buy a new one... my other one has lasted many many years since it is not out all the time, but it has gotten quite weathered. After tomorrow, out goes my St. Patrick's Day flag. Oh, I also have Valentine wreath on my door, then goes up the Shamrock on the door next, LOL. I can't wait to put the Easter ones up though!!!!! Then we know Spring is right around the corner!!!!!
Yes, many people put out some kind of decoration for every kind of "holiday" around here, in NJ anyway, that I see. Naturally not no where as much as Christmas, but Halloween is as big as Christmas around here as far as decorations go.

Wow, Doreen that's really interesting, the only flags you see around here are England flags, and you only see them when there are big England football games on!
Doreen, please can I ask you to post a picture of the Valentine wreath onto the Valentine Day picture thread for me? I don't think I have ever seen one before.......

So pretty - yet so scary. A falling one could do alot of damage.

We used to get big ones on houses we've owned too. Sometimes they are scary and fall! One house they water backed up under the roof and the ceiling crashed in on me. Pregnant with one and another about a year old! Fortunately I had a premonition (really no other word for it) just before it crashed and suddenly reached out and grabbed the one year old under me. What a mess! We had to move out for the repair, but at least no one was hurt.

I just called it a wreath, but it really isn't a wreath..... just a heart shaped decoration with little tiny shiny hearts all stuck onto the heart shape, but it hangs on the door with one of those over the door wreath hangers, so I called it a wreath, but I will take a photo tomorrow in the light and post it.

Wow that is scary!!! Luckily you had that premonition!!!
Mine is only hanging from the gutter. DH said our gutter guards are preventing the melting snow to get into the gutters fast enough and that is why we have icicles all around the house. The gutter guards prevents leaves from getting into the gutters.
