I don't know why yours is not clear... the photos you put up in your other post came out clear and it is the same photo. Maybe they are just too far away in that photo to be made into an avatar. Did you try it again to see if it came out clearer?

I think the pic you are using is going to be difficult to show well given the size constraints of an avatar. Remember, the maximum size is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller) so you may have to crop the pic to just the dogs (cut out the sides) to bring the dogs forward in the field of view. But it still might just be too far away to give much clarity.

It's a lot like looking at a pic on TV. If the screen is small, a distant, smaller subject shot is going to be harder to make out. Play with it, is really all you can do. And if it doesn't look right just get another photo trying to be closer in so it's clearer in a small frame.

To get an avatar that is clear and stands out a close up picture is best. Because you have two you may want to create an avatar that "rotates" or "changes" like SpyglassSally's so you can have a close up of them both (wouldn't want one of them to think you love the other more lol), or try to get one of them standing close together eg have them standing right next to each other and take maybe a headshot - mess around with your camera and have fun with it......don't forget the treats to get them to co operate lol. I also found that if you have a plain background the picture stands out more. You can do this by draping a sheet or piece of plain material behind them when taking their photo or by photoshopping the background one colour (which is what I did with mine as the background was brownish and my girl is brindle so she didn't show up too well - when I changed it to blue she stood out really well).
