I just realized that you are back.... how was your cruise? Did you have any problems with the storm getting out of MD?

Thanks for asking .

Well the cruise was good . The wedding was very nice .

Since our Friday flights were also cancelled in the early am
we decided to drive down to Orlando and left Friday about noon to try and miss most of the storm . We did hit some of the storm but it was not all that bad once we got past Virginia. It was a good decision to drive as the airports were closed until Tuesday and we would have missed the boat .

We were exhausted and had to stop in south Carolina to sleep . We stayed with Dave's family who was already in Orlando . Then drove to Miami on Sunday .

The kids had a great time even my oldest. they kept asking to go to the kids clubs .They had activities scheduled all day and night for them to do . So that gave us a little break.
The food was great and the shows were great too.

In Roatan we spent the day on a beautiful beach . That night Aaron got sick ( all over me thank you ) right after that night's magic show . So he and I were quarantined on the boat for the night and next afternoon . he slept just about the whole time he was so exhausted - and me too . We did not get to get off the boat in Belize. But Dave and the girls got off and they were not too thrilled about what they saw . people were told to stay in the tourist area and not to go beyond the gates unless you were on a scheduled excursion from the boat as it is kind of dangerous to be out on your own.

The next day in Mexico was great . Aaron was tired so we layed in a hammock between coconut trees on a beautiful beach while everyone else played in the water , they had tons of water activities . So a great day for kids and adults .

The last day at sea was very rough as a storm was coming in . Hanna was sea sick that night ( on me of course ) and later that night after being puked on too many times I was sick as well .

Our cruise ship took a little detour as there was a small boat that sent out a distress signal . We ended up rescuing a man that was in a small boat that lost all power and he was just floating out in the ocean , he had also been caught in the storm had no power and was taking on water.

The last night was still rough and Aaron ended getting sea sick ( again on me of course ) .

But all in all we had a great time . Even with all the getting sick the kids are still excited to go on another cruise .

Then we drive 17 hours home to be greeted by 3-4 feet of lovely snow . A friend and a neighbor came by and dug out a spot at the end of our driveway so that we had a place to park . We are so thankful to then for doing that . The pile at the end of the street was as tall as me (5 feet tall). There was no way we could have done that as soon as we got home . We spent the rest of yesterday shoveling and snowblowing the rest of the driveway . What a welcome home .

WOW! What a story! You could write a book - I hope you have pics to go with it. Although we can skip the pukey ones, lol!

Hope you can post some pics. And glad you're home safe and sound!

Wow.... you did have some time!!!!!! I would have been scared in Belize!! I know when we were in either Puerto Rico or Cancun, they told us not to go on the beaches during off hours for safety reasons too and had guards at the gates to the beach.

All that vomiting.... I don't know how you didn't lose it yourself, LOL. Then to come home to all that snow. You are lucky a neighbor dug you out a spot. We did that for our neighbor too since she was stuck with her young kids, her husband had left a few days earlier to Singapore for his father's unexpected death. He told her to leave it and would do it when he came home, but that was days later. We have the snowblower. It was hard to do, just the same, but not as bad as actually shoveling! We didn't have as much as you guys did more south, but we got over 18 inches.

Sounds like you had fun, even with all the pukey moments. I too would love to see pics if you have any.

Edy was very happy to see us .
And with all the snow we got here the kennel could not let the the dogs out to play like they normally would have. She is a bit skinnier than normal but all my dogs have lost a bit of weight after being boarded, just the stress of being left somewhere . We will just have to up her meals for a bit to put the weight back on .
