Well I have been waiting nearly 4 weeks for another foster dog. I was meant to be getting one this Sunday but have just learnt that this has fallen through too. I am so surprised how long it seems to take to sort them out, especially when they say they have so many in kennels. Anyway, I have decided to approach a different boxer rescue centre to see if I can foster for them but I guess this means I will have fill in more forms and go through another homecheck, so I will still have lots more waiting to do......

I know.... it is hard to believe that there are so many out there, yet it does take long to get one. I was just told today that they think they have another one for me, but he has to be dog tested first.

I guess they have a protocol to follow, which would take up time - seems a shame though, that they can't get these babies out of the kennels and into foster homes sooner . We will def need pics and info when you guys get your next foster - it was really nice to follow Honey's progress.

The one that they tried to have here for me is still with the woman that brought Max here and tried for the 4 hours. I just brought her some THK Preference since she said he has a little blood in his stool. She is going to start to give him the raw ground turkey tonight, although I don't think he will be with her after this weekend, I'm not sure. My Dh had seen the blood in the stool when he was here with us too. Not sure if it is from all the stress of him being moved so much or from him having worms and medicated... don't know. So sad. She said she finally heard him bark. Now he whines when she leaves him too, when she goes to work. He needs someone to be home with him in the daytime too. Poor baby.

I think it is a good thing if they are taking time to get a accurate eval before placing the dogs as fosters .

I used to foster until both my husband and I were attacked and
bitten ( many times ) by a foster . All because the eval done was not followed and taken into consideration before placng the dog.

It would be of that is what they were doing - a lot of times dogs seem to go straight from the owners home into a fosterers home, especially it seems the older dogs. My understanding is that dogs that do go into kennels are assessed in the first 7 days - if this is the case, why does it then take so longgggg to get these dogs out and into foster homes?
