Especially when seeing all the back to school ads on TV and the new fall TV shows that they are advertising.

Kids don't go back here for another 2 weeks, I dread it, it's been great driving around here - traffic has been so light, I have done my dog pick ups and drop backs and saved a good 10 minutes on the journeys.

Wow it has gone fast. Spring will be here in a week and a bit - yay! The days are already a little longer and the sun has been out during the week.

Stephanie, I know what you mean. Some mornings I have to go to my son's house and get my grandson on the school bus, then bring the younger one back home with me for the day. I have to add on an extra 10 mins. to my usual 15 minute drive to his house because of all the buses. There sure wasn't this many buses around when my kids where in school. And these kids get dropped off every block! We used to have 1 bus stop and everyone in the neighborhood had to be at that one bus stop to be picked up. So I follow the bus... I brake, follow for another block, brake again... over and over. What happened to the old days when you had to walk to school 10 miles in the snow, up hill, LOL LOL LOL LOL.
I also pass a middle school on my way in and out of my development. I make sure I am home before or way after 3 pm, or I get stuck in a line of cars, with a crossing guard holding everyone back, letting out about 20 buses, LOL LOL.
Our kids go back around Sept. 7th.

Oh yes, I KNOW how you feel - I live next to one school and within 10 minutes walk of at least 4 others and we do the same thing - try and get home before 3pm or stay out to after 4, in the mornings we just don't even try to go anywhere until after 9.30am - it's not so much a problem with buses but parents dropping kids off and blocking the roads with their cars - honestly it's just ridiculous.
Yes indeed what happened to the days when kids -shock-horror-gasp actually walked to school - rain, snow, whatever. Like you Doreen, I had to do it and never really thought anything of it - we didn't have a car as kids anyway so we had no choice and HAD to walk!
