What a day here today!

My daughter came home from being a lifeguard supervisor at a sleepaway camp all summer . She has her own home, but here is always home too, LOL. She asked me if she could bring home a few of the lifeguards. I am so used to my daughter inviting people home for holiday dinners and such, so of course I said yes. Well she ended up bring 9 kids (kids to me, LOL.. but they are in their 20's). Her inlaws, my mother in law was here and my sister came over too, oh.. and my son and his family. But all these kids came from either England, Ireland and one Australian. We had such a great time with all these kids listening to their stories of staying in Hostels. And man did they eat! Good thing I had tons of food! They just all just left around midnight and I am tired, but was all still wound up since they left. They enjoyed the pool, especially since it was heated so warm. It was not a nice weather day here, but was humid. Rained on and off, with the sun making appearance through out. They played Air Hockey in the afternoon and Wii games all night. They were SO appreciative of everything, just a really nice group of kids. My daughter also brought her new yellow lab puppy, so Rex and Coco had a great time! Rex was a very bad boy today though. He was going for the food on the dining room table! He NEVER does that. He was just a crazy dog today... hyper!! They really had so much fun with Rielly the pup, and once the pup left, Rex and Coco were out cold instantly, LOL.

My kids do appreciate me.... they were always good kids even throughout the teenage years... no problems. They always had friends at our house. Guess that is what was good about me being such a young mom way back in the day. I had the patience back then, LOL. We could be friends, but I was strict enough to keep them on the straight and narrow also! They did have their boundaries. But they tell me now that I did a great job with them, so I know now that I did things just the right balance, LOL.

And not only did they eat once, but we took out all the leftovers again at 7:30 so they could all eat again, LOL. Those poor kids must have been starving at that camp. They did say camp food was good the first week, then it went down hill fast, LOL.

What a houseful. I think you could have used the dining table Stephanie wrote about, lol!
Looks like a lot of fun, Doreen. Hope you could crash in peace the next day!

Those are great pictures Doreen - just seeing everyone having so much fun. Little Rielly is so cute - how old is he? Looks like he had a lot of fun with Cocoa, and look at Rex what a lapdog!
