we have been working with brandon on potty training for a couple months now. he turned two on august 13th. we wernt doing it seriously though just kind of once in a while put him on it around when we think he had to go. well within the 3 months we were doing that he only pee 3 times and pooped once. well all the sudden today he came tome saying poo poo and i asked him if he had to poop and he said yes so i put him on the potty, and he went!! well a couple hours later i went to change his diaper and didnt put a new on on yet so i was letting him just hang out half naked, and all of the sudden he was sitting on the potty peeing!! i was so excited i think he is finally getting it. YAY hopefully soon i wont have to deal with dirty diapers anymore. does anyone have any little tips for me?

That is great...... I am way past potty training for my kids, LOL...but I have a grandson who tries when he feels like it to go potty, but will always pee in the toilet before entering the bathtub. I think now that the older guy is in full day of 1st grade, my DIL will get serious in his training. By the way, the little guy just turned 3 in Aug. So that will mean I will be doing some training since I baby sit a couple days a week. I do remember putting Cheerios in the bowl for my older one to hit the target when doing the peeing part of potty training. And afterwards get some kind of reward, maybe an M&M or something small.

we got these cool stickers from my sister that change color when wet. We put them in the bottom of the potty and showed them how to make them change color. HE thought that was cool. Ben learned to pee standing up. I use to put fruit loops in the toilet and have him tell me which colors to hit... then it was his turn.... seemed to work!
I also inforce the you must pee on a tree outside rule.

i love the stickers! i will have to find some, but today he has done great. he wouldnt let me put a diaper on him when we got up and has peed in it 6 times today and only had two accidents and both of them were when we were outside playing, and the second time he even went running inside but just couldnt make it in time, im so proud of him. he is in a diaper for the first time today right now and only because its nap time. YAY i just cant hold back my excitment.
