file2store.info redirect for vBSEO

I have been having a problem for months that I'm wondering if others have had. About 1-2x/day when I click on my BH link, I get redirected to a file2store.info page with advertising on it.

I thought this was something my ISP was doing so I went into my router and changed my DNS servers but it still goes on. So finally this morning I Google'd it (why I didn't do that first?) and found there's a security alert for forums using vBSEO, which BH is.

Am I the only one having this? Ron, is this something you're aware of? It's really annoying and I'm curious if others are experiencing this.

That's interesting. This thread's poster only has the problem when accessing the site via search engine results. But I have a direct link to BH on my iGoogle home page and get it. It's the only site I have this with too.

I googled "file2store.info vbseo" and it seems this is not uncommon. I hope Ron can figure it out. I can live with it, but it's pretty annoying.

This happens to me 1-2x a day. And only with BoxerHub. My home page is a Google page that has personalized links to my favorite places - including BH. Clicking on a link is supposed to open it up in a new tab. When I click on that link it may bring me to BH, but not uncommonly it will bring me to this instead:

This is starting to drive me freaking nuts!!! I flinch when I click on the BH link!!! But it may just work too - I never know.

Since it's a link on my Google page, I know that it's not me typing it in differently. Plus, I think the links above show that it's some sort of issue with the vBSEO software. I'm surprised you all aren't getting it. Be glad, 'cause it's one of those things that only gets more annoying with time.

I've done a bit more research on this and the reason I think I'm getting it and not others is my home page is an iGoogle page so my link to BH is from there. This appears to be a hack which is redirecting Google traffic.

My guess, Ron, is that your search engine traffic has suffered from this. Some of the posts I read from other board admins report up to 70% decrease in their traffic due to this redirect.

I'll delete BH from my iGoogle bookmarks and see if I still have the problem. My guess is not.
