Anyone know anything about frogs? We found this little guy swimming in our pool - no idea how long he had been there. I took him out and put him in the pond as I was worried the chlorine and stuff in the pool would harm him. Anyone know if he will do okay in the pond with some small fish (just fantails) or what the pH should be for him? He is only about 1 - 1.5 cm and DH has already named him Kermit lol.

frogs would have to get to a pretty big size to eat the fish. I would bet that he will get scopped up by a bird prior to him reaching that size

I think he was a minature tree frog - not poisonous. He sat on the lily pad for an hour or so and then we went out for our Valentines Day lunch, we got home a few hours later and he was gone. He must have been exhausted from swimming around the pool trying to get out for goodness knows how long and needed to rest awhile before hopping back home, or the lizard that suns near the pond scared him off........or ate him, wonder if lizards eat frogs???? Oh I like the he went home ending best. It was a shame he wasn't there to show the children when they got home.

He looks like a tree frog to me. We have them all around the edges of our ponds. Our pointer goes crazy trying to catch them. They are so little and camouflaged that you really don't notice them until they jump into the water. I think they do not taste good to most animals, but I do know that snakes will eat them.
