Anyone here over 55 and feel like you are 110 or older?

I went to the rheumatologist the other day and he is sending me to an endocrinologist this coming week. When I balked about it he said I HAVE TO GO because of some labs he did when he drained me of blood two weeks earlier.
I am resigned to the fact that I will never feel 50 or even 35 again. I wonder what the percentages are of people my age who just do not feel good most the time. Do people just not complain, so do they feel years younger than they really are and have no need to complain?
Looks like I have a parathyroid problem. Parathyroid? What the heck is that I ask the doctor. It is a group of usually 4 glands that sit piggy-back on the back of the thyroid. It has nothing to do with the thyroid, so why is it called para thyroid? I think they named it that just to confuse people like me.

Well, I can add to this mix, stiff with arthritis, but up everyday at 4:00AM and still working, would have loved to retire, but that is not happening anytime soon. I am not as active as I used to, but I force myself to have Dog Class on Tues, Thurs, and Sat. It hurts sometimes, but boy does it feel good after.
Here in Wisconsin, we are so sick of being stuck inside, that I'm looking forward to class today, even if it is only 30 degrees with snow flurries.
Attitude is everything, I surround myself with new people that want to learn, and they give me the strength to carry on :0)

Para=“at or to one side of, beside, side by side” hence, parathyroid. But if the medical community didn't make it sound mysterious and beyond the highly indoctrinated - strike - educated, then anyone would think they can figure out how to be well. What group in their right mind would give up that kind of power? Certainly not the pharma/surgical/biomed device complex. Too many billions yet to me made.
Anyways, to answer your question, I'm over 55 and don't feel like I'm 35 anymore, but do feel healthy. No chronic diseases and the only pills I take are supplements, no prescriptions. Had a couple of joint replacements which aren't exactly like having my own, but other than that I'm doing pretty well.

I'm 55.... my body feels 55 but my mind still feels like 25, LOL....
I've have hip and knee replacement. They don't work the same as the originals, but took the pain away and that is what counts! Need the others replaced in time. Well, the other hip in the very near future. Lately been seeing so many specialist, going for every kind of test under the sun for gallstones, kidney stones, migraines etc.... been scoped all over, LOL.
Beware those with Arthritis taking meds.... I took too many Advils(for headaches) along with Celebrex..... now have bleeding ulcers. No more advil for me ever again. I can only take Tylenol now.
And to think it all started around 40 when I started to need reading glasses, LOL LOL LOL....
These past couple years have hit me with health issues.
But life, in general, is good! Got everything under control.

I'm in this club too. Arthritis, a knee I've been told is right on track for replacement down the road, just had torn meniscus (in the OTHER knee!) repaired along with torn rotator cuff in my left shoulder in January. Was also diagnosed with beginning stage diabetes--AAUGH! SO--started up with Weight Watchers (again!) 3 weeks ago, and hopefully this will help with the knees as well as the diabetes.
Had to laugh about your remark "And to think it all started around 40 when I started to need reading glasses, LOL LOL LOL...." about the time my mom turned 40 she was at the doctors complaining about these same issues, and he said 'Well, you know--after 40 it's patch, patch, patch!'
Sadly this seems to be true! But I keep moving, and if the weather doesn't change (does anyone else seem to have weather detectors in their bones these days??) I manage to do most of the things I want to do--Getting old isn't for sissys!

I see I have a typo in my OP. Had it not been my post I would have had a hard time figuring out what I was trying to say in one sentence.
I love "Getting old isn't for sissys!" I think I will steal your phrase, if you don't mind.
Since 2006 my rheumatoid factor and ANA are always high, but I have other out of range labs that contradict RA, and other auto-immune diseases, so RA doctors lump me in the category of undifferentiated auto-immune disease and firomyalgia. You can touch any part of my body and I feel pain traveling to somewhere else. Internists and family practitioners always insist I have RA.
For some reason the new RA doctor I tried included some labs I have never had. If I do have a tumor on one of my parathyroid glands it could explain much of my pain. The only surgery I have ever had are my tonsils when I was 5, and my wisdom teethe when I was a teen.
If I do have a tumor I am more concerned about paying the bills than the surgery . . . I think!

Steal away! I don't remember if I heard it somewhere, or came up with it myself--but it sure fits!
