I hope you are feeling well, and not letting all their "findings" get you down. Realize it's their job to find things - whether or not they pose an actual risk to you. For example, most men develop prostate cancer, but it's so slow growing they won't die from it and many breast cancers are in situ, and also pose no threat - unless biopsied, thereby breaking open the body's encasement of it. And you can
cut your risk by about half of breast and colon cancer, multiple sclerosis and type 1 diabetes by having adequate levels of vitamin D.
This is the kind of information you won't get in most medical offices. It's not their fault. Neither their initial or ongoing education focus is on nutritional and other lifestyle ways of preventing disease or healing what's gone wrong. They are trained to diagnose disease and treat it using drugs and surgery - which is great in some situations, but not without risks. In fact, the treatments used by traditional medicine, according to the
Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), make it the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S.
Realizing that the treatment is sometimes worse than the disease, I'd be sure to do your own investigating, trust what your body and mind are telling you, and get a second opinion (preferably from someone with a holistic, natural remedy viewpoint) if they are proposing something like surgery or lifelong medication.
Please don't fall into a passive victim mode - especially if you are not facing any emergency or catastrophic illness. Hopefully you feel well, or well enough, to pursue things that lead to true health and not just the suppression of symptoms.
I hesitate to say too much because there are certainly times for traditional medicine approaches, but many problems can be lessened or resolved through other changes, such as what we eat, drink or exercise. Your body was made to be self-healing and given the right ingredients, will do a remarkable job with no bad side effects.
Either way, stay in touch with your friends here. We care about you and want to know what's going on. Caring friends is probably one of the best "medicines" you can "take!"
