I'm suffering from camera envy. I have an Olympus that I got about 2 years ago and it is currently down in California at the only place on the West Coast that works on Olympus. Focusing is off, and it's eating batteries even worse than usual. I would NEVER get a camera again that used rechargeable AA batteries--they are the WORST!
Maybe I can ask for a new camera for my birthday...

Have you tried sports mode yet? It's fab for action pics..............
Ah kay awesome I love my new one hehe. But I love my old one as well, even though its not as good. Ah kay. I have both a 18-55mm and a 55-250mm lens. When I was using the Canon 1000D I borrowed from school, I realized that the 18-55mm lens was good, but I needed a bigger one as well. So I got the twin pack : )

Mine is on sports mode but I haven't really had anything to test it out on yet. Except birds flying in the sky. Might go up to the park or something when the weather finally stops being all wet and cold lol.

Do you know if theres any way to like enhance sunsets on the canon cameras? Cause on my Lumix camera which is the camera I had before this, there was a sunset option which brang out a more vibrant sunset and made them look awesome as... But I can't find anything on this camera that will do it. Not that there is many sunsets at the moment. Otherwise I'm gunna have to try and enhance them using photoshop and to be honest, I rather not.

Ah that sucks, really does sound like its time for a new camera. Theres only one camera in this house that has rechargeable AA batteries, and thats my brothers old Canon camera.

Some programs - like Windows Live Photo Gallery - have options to alter a photo. But if you have Photoshop, you have the best program going, imho. It's not the most intuitive interface, but the Help files are decent.

When you open the file, just be sure you go to Image>Duplicate first so that any playing around you do won't corrupt your original. Some changes, even if you don't save them, can affect the original otherwise.

Have fun with it!

Yeah I know, I've been playing around with Photoshop for about 3 years now... But as I as saying theres an option on my old camera that does it when you take the picture. But I'm figuring most cameras don't have it.

My lens is AF18-270mm - it is good enough for the picture I take, mostly the dogs and nature shots.

To test out sports mode - easy Roz - stand out in the garden and call Sugar or Tinny to come to you from inside the house, then press down a little way first to get the camera to focus, then hold it all the way down and it should carry on shooting until you take your finger off. Another idea would be to throw Sugar or Tinny a ball then shoot them as they run back to you. You'll be amazed at the clarity and defination of the pics............

I don't know about an enhancing sunsets option Roz, we didn't cover it on the photography course, so I have no idea, sorry. I can't check my manual for you either because a little while ago, one of the dogs here [erm Ruby!] decided to chew it up for me...............

Mmmm yeah the problem is the its been raining here for like 2 days and its just a pain. And at the moment I can only go into the backyard with Sugar as she's on heat and we don't want to risk anything by allowing her out the front or going to the park. She's the only one that will chase a ball. There has been a couple times Tinny has chased the ball... Until it stops moving lol. Then he'll just walk away from it. I use the continuous shoot anyway, I find it much easier, whether I'm taking pictures of random stuff, me, the dogs or just anything in general.

Ah kay yeah, I think my old camera was either the second or even maybe the first that I found that has the Sunset option. Haha its all good, I have mine so I'll go through it again at some point and try and find something but I doubt it will be in there. If I can't figure anything out, I'll just use my old camera. Probably easier to use it to be honest, I don't really fancy the idea of trying to jump up on my back fence with the Canon camera. It sounds way to hard to try and balance when I generally need 2 hands to hold the camera. I don't particularly like the idea of falling off of the back fence... Again lol. Thanks though : )
