Grrrrrrrrrrr..so angry

So I went home this weekend to visit my family and on Saturday I took Ruby out for a long walk along the coast line. As we were walking homewards I saw a man some way ahead of me with an alastian on lead carrying a black bag that looked like it had something square shaped in it. The man walked a bit and then he stopped and started hitting his dog with the bag............the poor dog was cowering away from him and he just kept on doing it - at least 10-12 times. I shouted at him to stop, but he either didn't hear me or choose not to hear me. He walked on abit more and then stopped and started doing it again. So I put Ruby on her lead and started running up to him, shouting at him to stop hitting the dog. As I drew up level with him I so furious and I said to him - you are a big bully, stop hitting your dog, you are frightening it, stop it......... Well, the verbal abuse I got back was just unbelievable..............the horrid man started shouting and swearing at me, all the swear words under the sun. Well, I can shout loud too, so I shouted over the top of him that I was going to report him, and that people like him shouldn't have a dog.
I so wish I had had my mobile on me.........I didn't bother with it because nothing ever happens on these walks, usually! Anyway I walked straight on down to the police station and outside was a patrol car, I told the policeman in the car what had happened and gave a description of the horrid man and he went off to see if he could find him and "have a word" with him. I went into the station and reported the whole incident. I haven't heard anything back from the police but from now on I will be sure to carry my mobile around with me all the time, and if I ever see him again, I will take his picture and splatter this story and his face all over the internet.

If I had've been in your situation that man would've gotten more than a verbal tongue lashing. People who beat their animals deserve to be beaten themselves.

His dog is saying "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."
Sounds like a guy with real anger issues. Maybe they'll run his name through their databases and come up with something to put him away.

Good job Steph! Maybe he'll think twice next time--especially now that the police are involved. I hope they get him! For sure he shouldn't own a dog!

You should still report it, give all the details, time place discriptions and maybe someone will be on the look out.

Thanks for your replies, I am still angry about it, but more kicking myself for not taking my mobile with me to record it all as evidence. Still heard nothing back from the police, but I am guessing that unless someone else happens to report him and they manage to get out to him, nothing much will be done about this sadly. But, he had better watch out, if I ever see him again I will call the police out straightaway [I got given a case referance number when I reported it] and, as I said above, I will post the picture of his evil, ugly face all over the place.
