Summer winding down....

Speaking of summer winding down Sally, it is such a GORGEOUS day here today! DRY, no humidity!!!! I am going to take advantage and paint my laundry/pantry room. I had my kitchen floor tiled, new quartz countertop & glass backsplash. Also had the laundry floor porcelain tiled too, but the walls need painting SO badly. How did that room get so bad? What do I do in there other than throw wash in the machines and look for some canned goods off some shelves, LOL. Anyway, it didn't look THAT bad until it was empty & a nice new floor put down...so new paint is a must now.

I want to get this done now for 2 reasons. 1) the shelving is still out of there & all my canned goods are in the garage. Waiting to get a nice new cabinet from Home Depot to put in place of the old shelves. 2). I am going to have surgery in a few more weeks. Going to have my other hip replaced. This is not a new surgery for me. I know what it's all about. I just donated 1 pint of my own blood yesterday & will give another next Monday. I am getting prepped. The part I am dreading will be spending probably 3 weeks in a rehab after the hospital getting physical therapy, which I've also done before for my other hip and my knee replacement. I am slowly becoming a bionic woman, LOL. It will be worth it, as I know how the relief is after all is said & done!
I am going to miss my dogs SO much, but Ron will be taking time off or working from home & will be here with them, so that takes A LOT of worry off me. I am getting all choked up just thinking how much I am going to miss them & how they will be wondering where I am. Ok...now I can't see through my tears so I better git myself in gear & get to work....paint isn't going on walls by itself.

I am hoping to take this iPad with me to rehab so I'll be able to keep in touch with the world.

Oh Good Luck Doreen! Haven't had to have anything [U]replaced[U] so far, but definitely have had some stuff moved around! Since you've been through it before, at least you know what to expect. Maybe Ron can bring the 'kids' to see you after a week or so? I'm sure they must have a courtyard or someplace where you can get some kisses and fur hugs! Please keep us posted on your progress!

Sorry to hear you have to go through that, Doreen, but it sounds like you are as prepared as anyone can be.

Maybe Ron can have the dogs Skype with you, lol!!!

I don't have skype set up on my Ipad yet... never had the need, LOL....

I have even been touring nursing/rehab facilities the past couple weeks. That is a unusual sounding thing to do, LOL. Since we moved, I don't know what's down this area. The one I was in the last time was really nice, but he one I was in the first time was HORRIBLE. I signed myself out after signing a waiver!!!! I had cockroaches in bed with me in that first place, they put me in the hall while they fumigated, never cleaned up the dead ones... ewwwww.... I was having nightmares..... I told my friends not to bring their purses inside when visiting me. I kept my luggage outside when I came home, to shake everything out first. I didn't choose that place. They just sent me there since I had no clue before. So I am prepared for this. I needed 3 choices, in case my first one or two beds are filled.

oh my goodness, its shocking the places that are up and running....ugh so unsanitary.....but! good luck! major surgery like that has got to be a bit scary even with experience. i'm sure everyone will miss you a ton, but they will be so so so excited to see you! you should get skype! its free! but maybe the dogs will just get confused....

That sounds awful!!! Having the dogs in bed is one thing, but cockroaches!!! Big EWWWWW!

I have Skype on my big computer but not on this iPad. I should really look into downloading it already. I know I can't see sme videos on here that require adobe flash. Can't download on this device, it tells me.

EEEAUGH!!! How can a place like that stay open??? Good thing you now know to do the research.
Poor pups, they will probably spend the time whining and wondering where 'mom' is.
