Hoping Everyone is having a wonderful Holiday season! Wally got a new coat and tennis ball for Christmas--likes one much more than the other (really must get a photo of him in his "I'm paralyzed, this coat is constricting" pose!) Santa brought me a new camera, so there's really no excuse! It's been very quiet on the forum this week, so I am going to assume everyone is traveling or entertaining and having fun.

Happy New Year.... I am just recuperating from Christmas, LOL. My daughter ended up bringing 2 dogs instead of 1 out of the 4, so it was a little hectic in here. No sleep since the dogs kept us up all night!!!

I have lots of photos, but have to get them all up on Imageshack to post first.
Been busy just slowly putting things away, cleaning up. Going to parties.
I got a new photo printer too, so I've been playing with that.
I am sitting here at my desk boxing up a couple things that have to be returned. Only a couple. One I knew because I bought 2 sizes of slippers, knowing one was going back (free shipping both ways with Zappos) and another just something I ordered for myself a couple weeks ago that I don't like the material, nothing to do with Christmas, LOL.

Lori.... will really be expecting photos now!!!!

Anyone celebrating New Years Eve? Not me.... I watch the ball drop from Times Square NY on TV. Open the door, see fireworks in the sky from neighbors and listen to everyone shout Happy New Year! Then go to bed, LOL. Ron will have been in bed a couple hours before... That's what happens after being married for 36 years, LOL.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL FROM ME TO! Its been so quiet on this forum lately..........not even a post from Ron & Annie... I wonder how they are doing? Anyway, we had a quiet holiday, just Graham and me and the dogs ofcourse, we didn't even have any boarding dogs this year either. On boxing day - the day after Christmas day my brother and his wife and my nephew drove up, had dinner with us, opened their pressies and went home again, so it was a short visit but it was so nice to see them.

Lori, I am looking forward to seeing some Wally pics - what camera did you get?

Doreen, I am looking forward to seeing your pics too - I didn't see any pics of what Rex and Coco got for their pressies, or did I miss that post?

As for celebrating New years, lol, we would both be in bed well before midnight here too, but we get so many fireworks going off in my area that it is impossible to sleep. I have some films on video that I taped so we will watch them and doze in front of the TV till the noise wakes us up, lol, boy that sounds sad, you know my mum is in her 70's and my dad is 80 next month, and they are going out to a hotel raving...................lol, they never stay in New Years eve....

Hi Stephanie-I got a Nikon 3100 Digital SLR-a giant step up from my Olympus that I've been fighting with for the past several years. (What idiot decided a motor-driven zoom camera should be powered with rechargable AA batteries??? I spent all my time charging them up and muttering when they didn't hold the charge.) Anyway, Wally will be one of my most prominent unwilling subjects--he always eyes me suspiciously when I start pointing that thing at him. I do take lots of pix of him--just have a heck of a time getting them onto the forum! There's my new years resolution!
My husband's mom is in frail health, so he and his siblings take turns staying with her. His turn is Saturday afternoon thru Sunday afternoon, so a friend and I are going to go have Chinese food and then come over to my house to watch a movie and do needlework. Wally will provide the floor show. We are having a belated Christmas dinner on New Years Day with my mom as she had a bad cold over Christmas so will have more presents to open--hurrah!
Hope everyone has a fabulous New Years Eve--I'm with you, I seriously doubt I'll be awake at midnight unless she stays later than I think she will. (but if I am it will be doing the same thing as Doreen!)

Wally was NOT amused at the New Years festivities. I dozed off in my chair (party animal--I told you!) and so was actually up at midnight. Some folks in the neighborhood had obviously saved some fireworks from 4th of July, and started setting them off. WOOF WOOF WOOF! Then he needs to go out, and races out in the backyard and tells them what he thinks---until a REALLY BIG BOOM sounds very nearby. I have never seen him move that fast! Zip in the door and he's standing at the top of the stairs looking down at me like 'what are you waiting for??? They're shooting!!' Finally got him to settle down even tho he spent a lot of time glaring at the ceiling and growling--and he became velcro-dog as well. We had to leave the bathroom fan on for white noise in order to get any sleep. He's been very tired today--all that guarding is hard work! Happy New Year Everyone!

Funny!!!!!! Poor baby...

I kept dozing on and off but a few minutes before midnight my eyes finally stayed open all the way till 12:45! The dogs were sound asleep....the booms from the fireworks did not waken them!

Well, we did just what we said. We spend the evening watching Singing in the Rain and a few other things I had on video. The fireworks were going on all evening and got very bad around midnight, we turned the TV right up to try and block out the noise. We went to bed around 12.30...oh the excitement.....

Lroi, your new camera sounds great. I remember having to use AA or AAA ? batteries [can't remember which now] and I hear you........... These modern batteries are great. I can get 2 full days out of my Canon battery, that is using it on and off the whole day long. For Christmas my brother got me another battery so I have spare one. Lori, with these new batteries, they recommend you don't leave them in the camera if you are not using the camera, and also to only charge them up when they are really run down.
