When I arrived home today I realized a sitation on my garbage can. I did not seperate the Recyclables good enough and were givin a ticket by the trash police. My next door neihbor said she saw some dude routing through our cans but did not notice it was the garbage police. Crazy, you get fined if it`s not seperated well enough. Only in my county.

yikes! in walkerton, where my mom lives, they have to put the garbage out in clear bags so the garbage police don't have to search through it

Wow, only the guy that picks up the recyclables here takes a little interest in what's in our containers. If it is something large (plastic or metal) that is like maybe a shelf from the refrigerator or something, he will just leave it along side of the empty container for us to dispose of another way.
We put all plastic, glass & metal in one trash barrel & paper in a square container. We must tie up the cardboard (cut into no bigger than 4 x 4 feet) pieces and put along the curb next to the other two.

OY! They just started the 'mega-sort' recycling thing here a few months ago--I REALLY hate having to stand there for 5 minutes trying to decide what kind of garbage it is! Can't wait until July/August when the garbage with the dog poo gets to sit there in the sun for TWO WEEKS before they will pick it up! Next thing we'll be fined for having 'too stinky' garbage--when it's their fault!

We have a palava over here with bins. We currently have 3 bins - a green one, a grey one and a grey one with a blue lid. The green one is for veg & bone waste and is cleared every 2 weeks. The grey one with a blue lid is for all recyclables - plasic, tin, glass, etc - that goes out every 2 weeks too but on a different week to the green one. The all grey bin is for landfill and that also goes out every two weeks, but I would have to ask Graham which other bin it goes out with, as I don't have a clue, he deals with them. To make it worse - one week they come on Thursday and the other on a Tuesday...... LOL, LOL...crazy land....
There isn't a fining system in place here, yet, it will come I'm sure. I see grey bins with stickers on them sometimes that say - "recycle more."

We are lucky. Ours are all put out every other Tuesday. All at the same time. Easy. My old house we had to remember what week was for paper & what week was for glass etc.
Bones & Veggies? Stephanie, then do you also have regular trash? I never heard of bone & veggie recycle. Wow, that must smell nice in the heat of the summer, waiting for 2 weeks!
That is regular trash for us which gets picked up twice a week.

Yes Doreen, it smells charming in the hot weather.........
We can put anything that degrades easily into the green bin, so along with bones & veggie peelings, we can also put any gardening waste too - I think they make compost out of it all....
The grey bin is for regular non-recyclable, non-degradeable rubbish.

Does anyone else think that they have taken this JUST a bit too far over the edge? Maybe we should all just buy a goat

I like goats, LOL....and since the dogs dig up all of our lawn anyway, why not, LOL LOL. Maybe a goat would put Coco in her place.
I just passed by one on my home a few minutes ago. I look for him every time I go by this house. He must not like mornings, cause he isn't out of his shed at that time, but if I go by about 3 in the afternoon, he is always out.
