Ok so I went to our pet store and couldnt find marrow bone for Bella but they did have pork bone..so I got her a few to have when we leave the house...I gave her one to see how she does with it before we leave her alone with one...She really loves it...I gave it to her about 12:30 and she is still at it and its 2:15..so it will def keep her out of trouble..but my question is this...is it ok that shes eating the bone? Literally eating it..she has it just about gone..Im worried she has sharp peices and she will get hurt when she tries to pass them? Or hurt herself internally...Am I just a walking worry wart?

Did you buy a smoked bone for pets? I don't recommend those. I prefer not to feed anything that has been heated in any way.
I like to get raw bones that you can get from a butcher or lately I've been using beef ribs. They work perfect.

eating small pieces of bone is really fine when they are raw. I also would not ever leave her alone with a raw bone. I wander around the house and don't watch my dog chew them but I'm available 'just in case', because just like everything in life, anything is possible.

You might want to try bully sticks. I gave Georgie her first one yesterday and it kept her busy for a couple of hours!

Boo loves raw marrow bones, but I've found I need to push out most of the marrow because it gives her the runs. Keepers eats pork ribs, in those he just eats the bones. We are trying pork necks next.

Our other chew treat favorites are bully sticks and lamb trechea.

Bully sticks are made from cow penises. I got mine at the feed store. I don't know if pets mart or petco sell them. I saw you can order them on line.

if you get them there those smell AWFUL, no kidding!!!
I have bought in bulk from www.bullysticksonline.com and those are pretty odor free.
With experience they begin to chew them faster, Daisy has hers gone in 15 minutes or so (6 in) but Poppy's will last a couple days yet.
The dogs sure do love them though!

LOL. Yeah, the first time I read that I couldn't believe it. My husband & I had a good laugh over it.

Buddy loves 'em. There's a great variety for sale on Amazon, if you don't have access locally.

You will have to go the the butcher or supermarket for a marrow (soup) bone, many get the butcher to cut it for them so there is no knuckle just the bone and marrow. You want to check that she is not the sort of dog that will try to eat the actual bone portion rather than spend hours trying to lick the marrow out before leaving her alone with it. Now some say don't leave them others give them before they go to work to keep them busy and have never had a problem, you really have to see what she will do with it first, if she is trying to eat the bone don't leave it. I found this link it is ideas of what to give your dog when in recovery but they would be good ideas for when you go out too.
