So ive been feeding Karma Wellness brand dry kibble (chicken). Shes been getting about 1 1/2 cup to 2 cups twice a day (breakfast & dinner). Nobody was really sure what she was fed previously (she was rescued), but I think her stomach is adjusting alright to the Wellness and she eats it with no problem.
My first question is, what quantity of food do you give your boxers?
And second, this dog has had some pretty lethal gas lately , do you guys think she is still adjusting to the food type change, or do you think it could be from her eating too fast?? I have been trying to figure it out, let me know what you guys think

I was having the same problem with Coco a few weeks ago. I wanted to switch her to a better dog food from what she was on when we rescued her, which was Purina from the grocery store. I had this bag that I had gotten for Rex (some dehydrated raw kibble) that wasn't working for him, so I tried it with her. First of all, she didn't really care for it, even after slowly introducing it. And man did she stink up a room!!!. I changed her to a new holistic formula which she loves and doesn't stink anymore.
Rex, I just don't give him any kibble at all anymore... just a couple pieces here and there for a treat when he gives me his paw while I am sitting here at the computer, LOL. Otherwise he gets banana pieces as his treat normally.
It should say on the bag how much to feed, but then you have to adjust to her activity on how active she is. I know I end up giving Coco more than the bag says, but I had to cut down, since she is now at a good healthy weight.

Babe food says 2 cups per day but if she's really active i give her more so she doesn't drop her weight which she does easily if over active like she's been at the dog park this week plus doggie daycare .I've found that since I whiched Babe's food she isn't near as stinky with gas unless someone slips some human food in there .

I just can't fatten Rex up!!! He is doing so well on the new raw diet, and I fill his bowl totally to the brim, 3 times a day, plus he gets bananas for treats all day long. I wonder if he is still growing?

You rescued Rex didn't you ? If he wasn't feed properly before you got him maybe his body is still trying to catch up & recover and will even off when it catches up.

Yep! He's still in survival mode. It can take over a year to adjust to a new routine. Plus, the raw is healing his insides from years of colitis. It will take a while before the body is able to absorb all the food it needs to.

The amount to feed depends on the food you are feeding - I have seen some cheap foods state up to 6 cups per day and some high quality ones state 2 cups per day , also each dog has different needs depending on activity levels, growth stages and their metabolisim. So I'd start with the guide on your pack and increase if you feel she needs a little more, remember that the feeding guide on the packets are just that - a "guide", you may need to tweek it . As for the gas yeah that seems to be common among Boxers, some brands and types of foods may give your girl more gas than others (Ruby has very little gas on RAW but when she was getting the odd kibble meal she was a stinker lol) adding a little yoghurt may help a bit.

Give him time he will "catch up", he is healing and he was in a terrible state when rescued, who knows how long he was like that for (and how much of his development was affected by it) so he has alot of ground to make up - I truely believe he will get there
