When he was little I prepped all the raw on my basement laundry room . It was a partially unfinished area that the kids never really went in and because it was easier to clean up . But for the last 2 years I prep all the food in my kitchen . I just clean up with vinegar & baking soda just like I would if I was prepping my food .

I have never had any issues with anyone getting sick from raw food issues and my kids never get really sick at all , maybe a mild cold / allergies but that is all.

And I also fed in the laundry room , just because of the mess . Now I feed either in our basement when it is cold or out on the deck in nice weather .

Both of you guys make great points.
Doreen, your the same way we are - we are constantly cleaning the kitchen sink area with clorox wipes. And, Missi, I see your point about prepping ahead of time (we do this too).
It is just the fact that it's in the kitchen. I don't want to feed her in the basement or anything like that... I have no idea what to do.
PS Natural Balance was recommended by someone at the vet way back when we had the allergy problem (decided on raw instead) but supposed to be a really good food... I'll check it out.

Going to stay with raw, just want Lucky to be the healthiest she can be. Just became aware of freeze dried raw food that might be good in the cases where I forget to prepare the meal one day, etc. Anyone heard of Grandma Lucy's? (Artisan) Looks like it is really good stuff. Anyone use freeze dried before?

I have not tried freeze dried. We're fortunate to have some local suppliers of raw.

Raw is kind of a hassle compared to kibble. Like making eggs is to pouring dry cereal. But I agree with you that it seems like it's the healthiest.

Let us know what you think of the Artisan. I can see where it would be good to have some around just in case.

We feed Wally Natural Balance for Sensitive Stomachs, he can't handle the really high protein in most of the 'good' brands. Earlier we used one with Avocado in it (can't remember the name-started with 'A') that was great until the protein problem started. I would say there are a number of brands that are better than Pro Plan--it strikes me as more of a 'middle of the road' variety.
