Default What Bowl Do You Use To Feed Your Dog?

We're finding now that Tie and Newman are both on RAW, they tend to move their bowls all over the kitchen.

We've tried to combat this by putting down a sticky mat, and giving them a rounder bowl (easier to get the stuff on the bottom). But they still end up everywhere.

What do you use?

I have the rubber mat under the bowl, plus the bowl has a rubber rim under it. I wish the whole bottom was rubber, but since it is one of those special, slow eating bowls, it isn't flat bottomed. Then I have it in a place that it is surrounded by the trash can and the container that holds their food. It is fine when Rex eats, but then Coco has to go to lick his bowl and I never know where I will find it! This is where I found it just now. Under the bakers rack.

Coco came running as soon as I moved the bowl to where it should be, LOL.

Don't mind all the pretty wires that my hubby has so nicely tacked up on the wall out of the way for me, LOL.

we've got a really heavy ceramic one. never moves around and we don't use a mat, just on the tile floor.

I use stainless steel bowls . Edy's is downstairs and I put Remy's on a rug . he is good at keeping it on there - he is a neat eater .

I've been working a lot with Shenzi about getting her to actually chew her food since I got her, and she's finally starting to get the hang of it, so her bowl doesn't slide around.
When I had Scooby though, I used a heavy ceramic bowl. That on a rubber mat worked really well

It doesn't matter what bowl I use, Buddy manages to eat like a pig no matter what. I have to clean up the area unless I haven't fed him enough. Then he's hungry enough that he'll go around picking up what he's thrown around.

i like the idea of putting the bowl in a contained area Doreen, i think maybe today i'll put them both in a corner and see how it goes

We use heavy ceramic bowls too which they can't move around. We used to have stainless steel that had a little stand to sit the bowls in when she was a pup, it didn't raise it higher it just helped stop her tipping it over (I got it more to stop her tipping her water as a pup - you know how they love to do that lol). When she has big "on the bone" stuff we feed her outside cause she just takes it out and works with it on the ground.

Looked a bit like this but the frame part was metal of some sort not wood, I think the weight of the water in the other bowl also helps to keep it in place.

we have plastic ones, they have a rubber ring on the bottom and we got a little rug from the dollar store, just like 12" by 18"(or something like that) and it keeps the bowls in place very well.

Our dogs are fed in their crates and they eat in about 5 minutes. We feed at 6AM and 6PM we used to feed raw many years ago before it was stylish, but now the US no longer slaughters horses, so we do NOT feed raw any longer.

Oops I better get to feeding ha ha ha
