I've read that sardines packed in water are best for you dog, but i haven't seen much on sardines packed in tomato sauce. Is it still ok?

There should be no problem with your boxer and tomato sauce packed sardines as long as his/her stomach can handle it. Give a try and see how he reacts.

Plus the tomato sauce may actually help with brown spots on your lawn haha
