We use a fairly lean hamburger, the vet normally wants people to use ground turkey or chicken but Keepers is so darn skinny we don't worry about the fat too too much. The recipe we use is...

3 pounds of ground meat
1/4 cup cold pressed veggie oil (we use less because we use fatty meat)
(on a different kibble we would add 2.5 teaspoons of bone meal)
1 capsule vitamin A with D
1 capsule vitamin E

I also add a bit of kelp powder, brewers yeast and lectithin granules. I put in a vitamin C when one of the dogs is sick.

Keepers has only been on Core about 6 months, he has ulcerative colitis and kibble is a real battle for us. He is almost 3 now, we got him around 2 years of age.

returning the wellness core. she liked it (just tried a small bit mixed with orijen) but since the company states everywhere that it is only intended for 1+ older dogs, i don't want to take any chances. i'll leave her on orijen puppy for a few more months until she is 1 and then switch to adult. i did a little expiriment where i have not given her any of her treats and seems better - i think it may be EVO treats i've been giving her...
