I do the home cooking and I have given raw meaty rib bones. I give raw eggs to our older dog Bobby but are they OK for pups?

I know what you mean. Some raw feeders would be horrified that I feed fruit and vegies, where others feed fruit and veg too. I just got to the point that I thought oh well I'll do it the way I like it and the way I feel comfortable, if she had of had any bad reactions then I would have gone back and changed it up a bit but so far so good. I sometimes add brown rice if it's a tight month and I will admit it has no nutritional value for her but it makes her food go a little further (especially when you have to watch your wallet) of course if she had showed some kind of reaction to it I wouldn't add it but no probs there. The reason I add veg is because she harvested my whole vegie garden over the summer , so she obviously likes them thought it better that I had control over it than her having an all you can eat buffet.
I gave Ruby raw eggs - one a week since she was about 12 weeks old, had not probs and lots of rawers recommended it.
My theory is give it a go if you want, if it works for your dog great if it doesn't a new lesson learnt .

veggies won't hurt. I would never say it's bad for your dog. It's just that they don't need it. If you want to feed it, go ahead. using a little filler like brown rice isn't the worst thing in the world either, but I wouldn't encourage it
I do want to say that although you can adapt and adjust this diet, you can't just wing it. Your dogs must have meat, bone and offal. You can't not feed one of those things. Other then that it's great!!

Even my DH has the 80/10/10 thing memorised and I stuck him with offal duty - the smell makes me dry reach even if I'm only in the room and not the one preparing it.

They do have cyanide, but it's bound to the pectin in the seed and therefore can't roam free (so to speak) in the body, and will pass right through without ever affecting the eater.
On the plus side, they are actually a source of vitamin B17, which is thought to protect against cancer, so they can actually be beneficial.
Oh, yeah, I'm new here. Hi all!!
