The dogs are going nuts!

The poor pups. Between the cold and the snow they have only been getting 2 or 3 walks a week. And the last two weeks our agility teacher has been out of town. They are so stir crazy, I feel terrible for him. I'm thinking of taking Boo to the pet store this evening just to get her out of the house. I hate February. I think of all the months this one is the worst

Do you live near a place where you can let them chase snowballs? Buddy goes outside a few times a day and chases snowballs I pitch. He LOVES that!!! He's going to really miss them when it gets warmer. Maybe a park or open field?

We go to the tennis court everyday. Keepers LOVES running in the snow, but isn't much for snowballs. He actually isn't a ball guy in general, it's tug or nothing for him. He does like to play "tag" (he actually plays the way kids do, we take turns chasing each other, great work outs for both of us). I still feel like nothing is as good as either agility or a walk though. He knows that tennis court so well and so I think it's boring now. He needs either a 5 mile walk or some good mental stimulation at agility. Maybe I'll lug some jumps over to the tennis court tonight and see how that goes, lol.
So what does Buddy do when they hit the ground? Boo tried to pick a snowball up once and when it feel apart she looked mortified. She's so funny, when I throw one now she looks at me like "nope, that's the broken ball, not wasting my energy on that." Little diva.

When they hit the ground, they often explode into a mist, and he just turns around and starts to run back at me like "throw me another one!" So I throw it the other way (the direction he's running in) and he chases past me, running it down to the ground. Then turns and looks at me, and starts all over again. He runs back and forth like that and never seems to get tired of it.
The maintenance guy here yesterday stopped by and even commented on it. He laughed and said I was cruel to tease him throwing those balls that disintegrate, lol. Sometimes if it doesn't break apart totally he'll run a piece of it back to me but as soon as I pitch another one he takes off after it too. It's really a hoot to watch. I often laugh out loud all by myself just watching him. He's just crazy about that game! If I don't throw a snowball he'll give me a real intense hard stare, with a pouty lower lip and stuck out chin - like " Throw a snowball!!!"
Crazy dog - he sure makes us laugh.

I wish Boo moved in the snow! Keepers needs a playmate for the winter but Boo doesn't tolerate cold/wind/rain/snow...
I took Keepers to play today, we ran around together for about 15 minutes before he cut his paw on some ice and I had to get DH to carry him home. He's pretty quiet tonight Poor man, though for some reason I really don't feel as bad as I should. Maybe not having him whining half the night for the walk is nice... lol!

Poor Keepers hope his paw is feeling better, Ruby would love a playmate if you want to send him over here - I'll make sure he gets a good run on the beach.
