Default Question about White boxers an AKC

To remove this ad please Register
I know you are not suppose to breed a white boxer. I have heard white boxers that are registered have limited AKC papers ? Which means there pups can't be registered is this true ? I am not breeding my white boxer is spayed. The only thing I have her papers and they are not marked limited. I also have a friend that has a flashy fawn boxer that has full registered AKC papers but her mom was white. Which how can that be if white Boxers all have limited papers ? I am confused.

Good breeders won't sell any puppy on a full registration unless it is to a reputable breeder or someone who will show the dog. There is nothing that states a white boxer must have a limited registration. Obviously common sense would dictate it is especially important to have a limited registration on a white boxer, but there is no rule about it.

Ah ok I was confused thanks. I am not breeding just like to learn as much as I can about things.I did talk with my white boxers breeder.I guess the people they sold her to as a pup was suppose to show her is why she had full papers. I got her as a 3 yr old and spayed already.I guess the first people that bought her as a pup did sign a contact that the pup would be spayed and not used for breeding. Then my friend that has a flashy fawn pup out of a white parent was a oops. She is showing her so I guess it was good she was able to register her with full papers. She is getting ready to take the good canine citizenship test with her in the spring. She is also planning on showing her in some AKC shows that she learned about through her dog obedience instructor. I am thinking I might do the good canine citizenship with my male Murdoc.

You can't show a white boxer, at least not in formal AKC shows. I wonder if there are other rules elsewhere? But that's why they shouldn't breed also (and some possible health problems). The breed standard, right or wrong, does not allow for white boxers. You can do all the AKC stuff, agility, rally, obdience on a limited registration. I don't think you need AKC papers at all to do the CGC even though that is an AKC test.

Oh no I know you can't show a white Boxer in Breed Standard shows but you can show them in agility, rally, obedience etc. I don't know why the breeder did it that way with my white boxer. I was glad to hear they did have a contract that she was to be spayed which was good but they could have just did the limited register instead. I don't know what they were thinking. No you don't have to have an AKC dog for the CGC you can even do it with a Heinz 57. I have done the CGC in the past with my AKC Lab.

I was just puzzled when I read on another MB that pups from a white parent can't be registered at all with AKC when my friend has a flashy fawn that had one white parent and she has full AKC papers. I guess it can be done but is not something that should be done. She is the one showing thats going to show in the AKC shows with her flashy fawn (from a white parent) not me with my white boxer I think you miss understood that part. Its hard to type things I mean sometimes.

AKC will register any boxer of any color that has both parents registered . AKC is a registry only . It is the ABC that sets the rules as to what disqualifies a dog for showing ( ex. color) .

When a breeder registers a litter they decide as to how a puppy is registered either full or limited . Limited registration will mean the dog 's offspring can not be registered . So you can have both full and limited in the same litter .
