We are getting a foster
To remove this ad please Register
On Monday night we will have our foster dog, unless someone adopts him before then. His name is Max and he is 7 years old. He has been in a general all breed foster place and they would bring him to the Petsmart petstore on weekends to show him off for adoption. A woman from my Rescue saw him and asked if she can have him for our adoption and they agreed, so we are taking him since he lives with little kids and other dogs and cats. He listens well, knows the basic commands.

Congrats Doreen, should be fun then with 3 of them in the house. We should be getting our next foster sometime over the next 2 weeks, but we don't have any info, it will be a case of whichever dog fits our requirements and is the most needy come the day. I have to warn you though - we STILL miss Honey even though she has been gone 3 weeks now. We are lucky though - the guy who took her has kept in touch with us and sends us updates and pictures, which has made it easier.

He looks lovely! Hope he finds a forever home soon. I too can't wait to hear more about him - and how Coco and Rex go with him. You and Stephanie have such big hearts to take in fosters .

The only problem being, will we be able to let him go... as Stephanie said, it is hard. I really don't want to have 3 dogs, LOL... 2 is too much for me, LOL. Hopefully he will be able to find his forever home soon, poor thing. He will sure have a better shot at being looked at from a Boxer Rescue than just some random weekend adoption thing, in my opinion anyway. People that really want boxers are going to look at our site.

You can even see the "happy endings" story people write after adopting. I wrote short little stories for Rex and Coco and are on there after I got them, under Gallery> Happy Endings

Well, we had Max here last night, but it didn't work out
Max did not like my dogs. We tried for 4 hours, starting out in the driveway out front, one dog at a time, on leash, then in backyard, same thing, then off leash one at a time. But he just wasn't a happy camper with either one of them. He is such a good dog. Very loving to us once my dogs were inside and he was alone with us outside. We think he will need to be with submissive older dogs, not my crazies. But I have to say, mine were on their best behavior. Rex even offered him his ball that he never lets out of his site, but Max just wouldn't budge. He kept nipping at my dogs when they got to close. Poor Max, someone even cut his ears with scissors, trying to crop his ears themselves! People are so stupid!!! I felt so bad. He really is going to make someone a great pet. What a lover he was when he was alone with us.

Oh dear, I'm sorry it didn't work out, that's a shame for Max - he would have had it made at yours. Did the rehoming centre not test him out with other dogs before allocating him to you? Will you try for another foster do you think? We are still waiting to hear about our next one....................

He came from a home that had 5 dogs and the woman that went to pick him up saw him with all of those dogs, cats, kids. None of them boxers. They were little dogs. Maybe he doesn't like bigger dogs.
I guess we will have to wait for one that will fit our situation again.
