How's Your Boxer In The Heat

How does your boxer handle the heat? here in ontario right now it's really hot...pushing low 40's with the humidity.
As soon as the boys step out side, they just plop down and don't move. I have to almost pick them up to go to the can haha
babies!

Buddy wants to go play and doesn't seem to have enough sense to realize it's hot. Then he gets exhausted. So we limit his outings and give him crushed ice when we come back.

Scout does better than Gunner. When we are outside, they sit under the shade tree but we aren't out for long. We give up walking when it is over 27 and usually wait until dark. We give ice cubes and flavored ice pops for treats.
Gunner will sit right on top of the air register or plop down in front of the box fan.

Coco doesn't like it too much. She might play for a couple minutes then wants inside. Rex will stay out for a long time if I let him, but the air quality is so bad, especially today and will be for the next few, I make him come inside after about 10 minutes.... and of course water available everywhere!

Our dogs don't like the heat either, I have a training group that meets in the park, so we are at the mercy of weather, hence the name (Organic Dog Training) we train under the trees in the shade, but we work very slow and take many breaks. Last night it was 86 and humid here in Milwaukee, we basically trained one dog at a time on one exercise, that way, the others could lay and rest until it was their turn. We do train at 6:30PM, so the heat of the day is just beginning to die off, and one good thing, it was quite breezy. At home, they go out to do their job, and right back into the AC ha ha ha

We try to plan Ruby's walks and beach trips for early morning or evening during summer. When she is at home we have a kiddy pool we fill up for Ruby but other than having a splash and going out to do her business the little princess lays on the tiles in the AC most of the day lol.

It is 100 out today, and Lucky just stood at the back door while I went outside to water the flowers. She's a ham. Normally she doesn't mind the heat, but she'll get exhausted pretty quickly.

It feels hotter today than yesterday. Rex isn't even thinking of going out. Since my grandkids left, the dogs have been sleeping. They got their exercise chasing the kids around my living room, foyer and dining room, LOL. Tired them out.

OK.... pictures are worth a thousand words..... here is how my dogs manage the heat:
(1) lay in a room with the AC vent right overhead. Look out window for anything exciting.....
(2) then move to a cooler spot....
(3) then roll over finding a better spot....
(4)what..... it isn't hot inside.... why don't you want to play, Rex?
