My Charlie came home yesterday.
His breeder dropped him off, I think she really wanted to make sure our home was suited before dropping him off. I was very impressed by her to be honnest. She had taken him to the vets first thing in the morning for his 2nd lot of jabs and showed up with a stack of papers for him including Kennel club, pedigree, insurance, diet sheet, general advice and we had a good chat aswell.
Hes been checked for blindness and deafness and hes all ok, both parents were heart checked and dad was Hip checked and all was clear (she brought certificates to show us). She also brought a box of his dry food and a couple days worth of his raw food too (I was impressed by that as that is what we want to feed him on aswell) and she brought a new bottle of tear stain remover she had bought at the vets that morning because he does have a lot of brown tear staining and she didnt want it to get bad and smelly.
He was a bit depressed at first when she left (and her little girl) and was even more upset because my daughter wont go anywhere near him. She says shes scared! Today, however, shes stroked him a few times when he was sleeping.
Hes lovely. Very cuddly and all over me constantly. We kiss lots, Hes always on my lap asking for cuddles. Hes responding to his name already, sitting (most of the time) when told and , although hes had a few accidents, hes been going toilet outside aswell. All this stuff has produced lots of treats for him, and the accidents which were cought as he was doing them he got told off and looked visibly upset that he wasnt getting a treat for that one.
He ended up sleeping on the bed last night, asked to go outside at 5 am and then slept again till 7 am. He hasnt cried, he hasnt moaned. He barked a couple of times when we were playing tug with his rope toy but other than that hes been an incredible pup.
We feel very lucky to have him. Now were just waiting for the boxer joys to kick in.
P.S.- He also likes chewing my hair (in a plait), chewing my slipper, chewing my night robe and he tried chewing the sofa once.
