Default Thinking about a Boxer

Hello, I would love to own a boxer for my family. We think it may be the right breed for us. However, we are slightly concerned with their size.

How big is your female boxer? How much does she weigh? It would be great to get a real world example of what people out there have.

Hi and welcome .

On average a female boxer weighs about 55 pounds , but I have seen some as small as 45 pounds and some almost 70 pounds . The best way to judge how big a puppy may get is to look at both parents and both sets of grandparents .

My Edy weighs 55 pounds give or take a few pounds depending on the season , she gains a pound or two in winter . And is about 23 inches tall at the whithers ( shoulders) .

Charlotte, Edy's mother weighed about 65 pounds and was 24 inches at the whithers.

Edy this past spring to give you an idea on her size.

you really just need to look at the size of the parents, smaller parents rarely give birth to large pups and visa versa. i have a very large male puppy(55lbs at 6 months old), but a friend of mine has two females both of which are no more the 50-55lbs.

Normally that would be the plan. But more than likely we will adopt from a local Boxer shelter...We'll just have to use our best guess.

Hi there, it's great that you are considering a rescue, mine are rescues. My Ruby is 26 inches in height and her weight varies from 26 -27 kg. My boxer boy is only 25 inches high though.......

Hi and welcome.

My female, Coco, is about 50 lbs. She hasn't been weighed in awhile as she hasn't needed to be at the vet, but she looks the same to me as always.

Just remember.... you don't own a boxer... a boxer owns you,
Your life will never be the same.... you will do alot of laughing!
