Default Charlie's version of health care

Both myself and my daughter have cought the rather bad flu doing the rounds in the UK right now. This morning I was screaming in bed with a high fever (which for someone with chronic pain is a bad thing as it worsened everything), sweats, terrible headache and lots of body pain. Charlie's version of health care was to come into the bedroom and lay down on top of my head.

It may sound strange but it actually helped. The pressure of him on my head reduced the pain behind my eyes and when my other half told him to get off I ended up calling him back in and told him to resume the position.

He didnt, but he did lay next to me licking me persistently before going to sleep himself.

Its good to be loved!

Oh no, poor you - is it swine flu? I heard on the news that its going around again.... Sorry you are feeling so ill, I really hope it passes over soon. Bless Charlie for trying to look after you, how sweet, they can be quite in tune with us sometimes. Last year I was abit out of sorts and Ruby took to following me around everywhere and I mean absolutely everywhere, I couldn't understand why she was so clingy, it was only a week later when I felt better that I realised she was looking out for me. Sure hope you feel better soon. Take care.

I definitely dogs have that "sixth sense" when it comes to knowing what we're feeling! What a sweet little pup you've got
Hope you get well soon.

Its not swine flu but a severe strain of flu H1N1 thats doing the rounds and killing quite a few people. It just feels like a bad flu to me, im not on deaths door or anything although I do feel it. LOL I was more worried about my daughter and we were ready to take her to hospital 2 nights ago. She had very high fever for 3 days running and no meds would bring it down. She was on 39.2-39.4C constantly and we were terrified of febrile convulsions because it was so high. But today she is fever free, running round, demanding stuff, breaking into the bathroom and flooding it so I think shes on the mend now.

We will be ok in a few days I guess. Charlie has been looking after us very well. Plenty of kisses and cuddles. Hes a great pup! I will get some new pics of him up soon.
