What's your dog like in the morning?

Well, my 3 are all different. Jakey is up with the morning light, paces around the bedroom and the landing too if we have left the door open, he whines a little sometimes and scratches at the bed and waits to be invited up.
Ruby stays on her bed but if she sees Jakey has gotten on the bed with us then she climbs on too. Then Roddy, dear Roddy some mornings he leaps on the bed [without being invited I might add!], and tramples all over us and lies down in the middle of the bed and hugs right in next to me for a cuddle. Most mornings though he stays in his bed and he doesn't shift. Even if the other dogs are on the bed with us or are up and about or Graham has taken them downstairs to go out in the garden, Roddy still stays in his bed - he will not move until I get up. He loves his bed - bit like his mummy!
Be interested to know what your dogs are like in the morning?

depends on weather bo is in his crate or up with us..
if he is in his crate he will patiently wait until me and bran go potty and get dressed and everything, then the second the crate door opens he goes straight outside.
but if we let him sleep in our room, when the alarm goes off for hubby at 6 am Bo immediately thinks he has to go outside, and HAS to go before hubby is even dressed so of course i have to get up and do it

Buddy is leashed to his cool-a-roo bed in our room. Not that we know he would wander at night, but he doesn't mind and it gives us peace of mind since he can be a bit of a rascal when bored.
When our alarm goes off at 5:10 we unleash him and head for the coffee. He usually follows us and is put out then. After that, he jumps up on "his couch" and sleeps for several more hours before waking and deciding what I'm going to do for him.

Tie usually starts bugging first to get up and eat around 6:30 7:00.
After they eat and go outside, they pair usually go back to bed. Newman usually jumps into bed with annie

Love that statement! and SO true of the little buggers!
Wally is SO good in his crate. Doesn't matter what time he goes to bed (sometimes he decides to go hours before we do) he just sleeps until we get up and come out into the dining room where he is. We let him out, and he grabs a toy and comes wiggling to say good morning. Then he HAS to go roll on the throw rug in the bedroom-he has claimed it. He might not go out until after he has breakfast--he's got a tank on him, that's for sure!

You never know what the morning will be like, but for sure you can count on it, that Coco will be up before Rex. Coco is ALWAYS in our bed. Rex on any number of given human seatings in living or family room. If she has gotten up in the middle of the night to go potty, then she will sleep later in the morning, but if not, she will get up when Ron gets up usually between 4:30-5 am. She MUST wake Rex up, whether he wants to get up or not, LOL. Mostly Coco comes back to bed with me, Rex back to one of his living room chairs, waiting for 8 am to roll around... no later, because he won't miss breakfast!!! Or should I say, won't let me let him miss breakfast!!! He will come in the bedroom looking for me by that time to let me know it is time. After eating, back to sleep for them again, UNLESS now that the warmer days have arrived (and it is not raining!), playtime has begun... whether the neighbors like it or not, LOL.

There are two trains that pass near my house every morning. I always get up when the second one goes by, (6:30ish) and now its gotten to the point that Lars will jump up as soon as he hears the second train coming, far before I even hear it.

When my husband gets up at 5:30am he usually makes the dogs go outside whether they want to or not. Only 3 listen to him, Dani completely ignores you and stays in his tight little ball on his dog bed. When the hubby lets them back in 15 minutes later they all fly down the hallway to see who can get to the bedroom first and pick their spots on our bed. I dont get up before 8:30-9am When I start to stir Raven and Mya always have to get right into my face, competing for morning cuddles and kisses. When I can finally get up and get them off of me I put them back outside for a bit.

Funny reading this thread again. In the past 4 months things have changed abit. Jakey, bless him, has stopped asking to get up on the bed with us in the mornings - the bed is quite high and old age is creeping up on him pretty fast I think. Ruby won't get out of her bed in the mornings now either............Roddy has learnt there is more room on the bed if he waits for Graham to get out of the bed first, SO, the second Graham gets up, Roddy jumps on. SO that's me, Roddy and Ruby all snoozing away long after Graham and Jakey have gotten up and gone downstairs.
