I kinda figured it was something like that--but you know it feels like your kid is getting sent home from school for fighting! Once we get the fence completed, I think he'll have a week or 2 off. He'll be boarding there the week of July 4th, and I don't want him to solidify bad behaviour!

Roddy does this sometimes too Lori, just today he was out with another boxer playing nicely when a staffie x came over and wanted to join in, for a short while there was a bit of barking and a bit of tension but then they all decided they were friends and ran around for ages together. Later on, the other boxer lay on the grass and wanted to play with the staffie from the ground. They looked like they were playing nicely together - mouthing and pawing at each other, but Roddy didn't think so, he went barging in and jumped on top of the staffie trying to dominate it. Me and the staffie owner had to pull him off.

It would be really interesting to know why some dogs are more reactive like this or whether there is infact something going on in the dogs body language/behaviour that dogs like Roddy and Wally pick up on that triggers it off......

Anyway, a break from the place sounds like a good idea to me.

Yeah, in fact, we left him home today. I had hand surgery a week ago Tuesday, and have been working 1/2 days all week. The fence guys will be done today, and so we left Wally in the house until I get home around noon. Then the guys will go to lunch and Wally can have some time in the yard, and then come in again and snooze with me--I think he's pretty tired from 3 days in a row at daycare anyway. We'll take him to the dog park tonite and see how he does.
