Anyone doing anything different with their dogs this summer?
Not me.... I'm not exciting, LOL.... but my dogs love me anyway, LOL LOL. They just like doing their usual running around in the yard till they are good and tired and panting. I keep refilling the water bowl with nice fresh cool water, then they come inside to lay on the nice cool wood floors. I don't let them be out for more than 20 minutes top when it is really hot and humid and that is in the mornings or later after supper time.
When it is too hot & humid and we are out in the pool, I keep them inside, although I know they don't like it and want to be out with us, it just isn't healthy for them when it is that hot. They have tons of shade, but the humidity is a killer and they will keep running and running anyway, which makes me worry.
So what are your days like with your dogs?

Wally's routine is fairly consistent--although he gets more outings when the weather is good---here in Oregon, you don't wait for it to be sunny-it could be a long wait! He loves to go to the dog parks (we have quite a few) and run and run and run! If we are busy or the weather is just too crappy, he gives us a day's grace, but by day 2 he's in our face--hey! There's a dog here with places to go!

I know it has something to do with the fact that I was born here, but I'm really NOT a sun worshiper! My favorite time of year is Fall, 'cause we have glorious colors, and the average temp is around 75 degrees---for me 78 with a breeze is perfect! It's been a long, wet spring (we JUST had our first 80 degree day about 2 weeks ago!) and even I have gotten tired of grey skies--but we haven't had the devastation other parts of the country have had, so I'm not complaining!

I am not a sun worshipper either, but I do like to "see" it to make me mentally happier, LOL. I don't go out in the pool during the hottest parts of the day normally, unless family is here. I either go before 10 am or after 3 pm.

the days can be hot and humid in our neck of the woods. the boxers still seem to like being outside in really hot weaather but we do limit their exposure.
Their walkies usually happens when the sun goes down.
