I have a 5 yr old fawn femal with black mask. She has had issues with a lot of redness on her muzzle and her nose is sometimes dry and has some grey/white discolor on the nose. my vet tested and thinks it allergies. just wondered if anyone has seen this in a boxer. we had the nose biopsied and it was fine. The redness has gotten much better and she feels great and eats well. I just wonder what is up with the discolored nose. just an appearance issue I hope. Thanks kevin

Glad to read she is doing well. My collie x has loads of allergy issues, took us years to sort out a mangement plan for him. We just about got them under control, but there are certain foods we cannot feed him, and we have to be very meticulous with rinsing him down after he has been out or walks and runnning around in the grass.

As for dry discoloured noses, seems that sometimes as boxers age their noses seem to dry out, vaseline or Vit E [open a capsule and she rub it gently into her nose] is good for that. I don't know about the grey/white discolour - has she had it long? is it getting bigger? does it bother her at all?

Thank you for the reply. She has had this grey/white discolor right in the center of her nose for about a year and a 1/2. we had a biopsie done and it dosent bother her. it probably bothers just me. Thanks kevin

Is it just discolouration? It is caused from her constantly scratching her face or rubbing her nose on the carpet. She has literally rubbed off the black pigment. I have a female with this as well.

Is it in the center of her nose or around the top edge ?
My guys will sometimes get dry nose along the top edge of their nose where it meets the fur . It is kinda raised too , I put some vit E on it and it will go away for a while sometimes it comes back . I notice it more when the air is dry in the winter .

If her nose is lighter in the center it could just be loss of pigment . It is usually called snow nose as many dogs get in in areas where there is less sunlight in the winter months .
I had a chocolate lab whose nose turned very pale one year .
