Is there anything on the market that can help combat the dreded "dog pee patch"

I once heard somewhere that if you put some tomato juice in your dogs food it helps reduce the acidity of their urine. Is this true?

Is your dog peeing all over the yard or just in one place? My dogs have always picked a corner of the yard to go in, and I've learned to live with the dead patch there.

I haven't heard that about tomato juice. Since tomatoes are acidic, it seems like it would have the opposite effect, but who knows.
