Default Tick...

I just picked a fat tick off my carpet... it fell off of Rex and Coco had it in her mouth. I didn't realize what it was. I saw her pick it up and I told her to drop it. She did. I was going to vacuum and leave it till I vacuumed, but then didn't want her to pick it up again, so I went and picked it up.... felt slimy. I didn't have good glasses on to see what it was. I put it on a white tissue and put on my glasses, then I saw the little legs moving and it rolled over and started walking!! Ewwwww...

I knew Rex had a skin tag on his back and thought he was getting a second one, but it looked awfully big all of a sudden today. Now that skin tag, obviously not a skin tag, is gone. He only has the original one that he always had.

December and we still have ticks! Can't complain though... this is the first all year that I've found one!, but in December? LOL.

EEEEwwww!

At least they are easier to see on brown dogs. Our first dog (Carli) was a lab mix, and when she was just little we took her with us to a family gathering in the Columbia River Gorge--about an hour and 1/2 from Portland, and a transitional climate from our wet to Eastern Oregon's dry desert. About 3 days after we got home, I noticed this weird thing by her eye. Took her to the vet and all in all they found about 11 ticks--you couldn't see them because of her black coat-plus we had no idea there were ticks anywhere around. Even the vet was grossed out. Nasty nasty buggers! Maybe the 'fall freeze' will come in January!

This weather is so crazy - it is wayyy too mild for the time of year! I keep waiting for it to turn cold - a couple of days ago it was so mild I went out with just a sweatshirt on, no jacket even - quite ridiculous really.

Yuckkkkkkk to the nasty tic, they are horrible things. I have found them a couple of times, mostly on poor Jakey.
